Grant finally started crawling the other day. And I mean crawling the way every other kid crawls - both knees on the ground, alternating left right left right. Not the gimpy little Hunchback way he used to crawl. I guess he just need to walk for a year first.
He first showed me his new skill in the library the day before we left for San Diego by trying to crawl his way down a row of books while yelling. In the library. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for all the other patrons of the library, he wasn't very fast and it was a pretty awkward crawl so I caught him fairly easily.
He has since perfected his crawl, as he demonstrated to me yesterday at swim lessons, on the pool deck, while trying to get back to the water fountain I had so cruelly pried his grubby little fingers off of because someone wanted to actually take a drink from it while all he wanted to do was push it on and off and on and off and on off on off on off on off. You get the picture.
Not to be outdone by all this crawling, Emma too has reached a few milestones. First is arguing back. Now most people wouldn't mark that as a milestone, but she's actually pretty good at it, and she often as pretty valid things to say. It's interesting, that's for sure. And keeps me on my toes.
She can also wipe her own hiney now after she's pooped. Now that's a milestone because it means one less hiney I have to wipe. And that's newsworthy.
