Weekend Update

Trick or Treating was fun. Most people picked up that Emma was Tinkerbell, only one person figured out Grant was Peter Pan. Maybe because he wouldn't wear his hat so he looked like the 3 foot version of the Jolly Green Giant. We just did the 6 or so houses on our little block, it was drizzling, our street is scary dark, and this one idiot kept racing up and down our street. Grant tried to walk into the first 2 houses when they opened the door, then for the rest of the houses he reached his fat little hand right into the bowl and helped himself to one piece of candy. Emma spent the rest of the evening handing out candy at our house, commenting on people's costumes, and accepting compliments on her own costume. It was fun.

As for Saturday, well sitting in a football game in the driving rain is just as miserable as it sounds. The referee's blew their whistle, the game began, and the rain came down. It just sprinkled for the first quarter, and just as I was thinking it wasn't bad at all, the sky got dark and it started pouring. Big thick freezing drops of rain. And it kept on pouring until there was 4 minutes left in the game. My poncho advertised "maximum coverage", but there wasn't much it could do when the wind started blowing. When the game was over we were soaked and freezing, and shivered our way back to the car and our blessed change of clothes. Hubs cranked the heater and we just sat there soaking up the warmness and the dryness of the car. On the way home we stopped for dinner at our favorite Chinese food restaurant in that part of town and reveled in the yumminess of the restaurant. As much as I didn't love the wet football game, it was totally worth it for a date day and wonderful dinner with Hubs.
