Tidbits

Grant is trying to say some two word sentences now! YAY Grant. He busted out with "more ice" the other day, and now sometimes says "Bye Da" and one other one I can't remember right now. The speech therapist called yesterday and she's going to reassess him in January since he hasn't made a ton of progress since she saw him in August.

Emma is quite curious about all things God right now. She's asking question like "How does God see all of the world from Heaven" and "How on earth did God get Big Granny up to Heaven?" and "Why did Eve disobey God and eat the apple?". You know, nice easy basic questions like that. Sheesh.

Grant threw his leg over his crib the other day to try and get out. So now I'm faced with the decision of paying $80 for a crib tent or moving him to a big boy bed. I want to do neither.

Emma has started reading Grant books in the morning and it is the most precious thing ever. She actually volunteers to do it, and waits patiently while Grant chooses his book. Then she'll label everything he points too while she's reading. It's so great to see them getting along so well since we have bickering moments all day long. I want them to be best friends as they get older, and I know this is just one of the baby steps to get there.

I love Thursdays. It's the one day of the week we don't have anything on our schedule, so the kids get to laze around in their pj's, I have a chance to clean the house, and I've noticed everyone gets along better. Probably because I'm not stressed about getting us out of the house on time. And Thursday night is date night, which means we send the kids off to bed and enjoy an adult dinner together. I look forward to Thursdays all week!

Tuesday was a village day. You know, one of those days where it takes the whole village to raise your kids well. Grant sprinted out the doors of gymnastics and straight into the parking lot. Three moms and I went flying out the doors behind him, and without even communicating we formed a circle around him and corraled him over to me. Then later in the day a mom helped Emma get her sweatshirt on while I pulled Grant off a tall stack of chairs. Then finally, a third mom helped Emma get across the parking lot at church, in the dark, while I grabbed Grant out of the bushes. Thank goodness for the village.
