Who had the crankies?

We participated in a local institution today - the run/ walk that raises money for the local city wide food bank. It's a huge crowded mess that is the "in" thing to do around here on Thanksgiving morning. We were talked into it by some new friends of ours, whom we never did find, and shuffled our way through downtown bright and early this morning. Emma wasn't sold on the idea of "being out in all that fog" nor was she sold on this walking stuff, especially when she realized we had no hope of winning the race. All that led to some grumpys on her part, and at one point, after much whining on her part, I looked at her and said "Have fun and be thankful while you're doing it!" with a not so cheery tone of voice.
