You all can start practicing yelling that now, because it won't be much longer until you're yelling it for real at Emma's soccer games. Girlfriend rocks at soccer. She had her first soccer practice today, and she loved it. In preparation for the big day, we went to the local soccer store, and loaded up on soccer gear.
They had Emma pegged the minute she sauntered in wearing her pink polka dot shirt Maddy brought her from Disneyland (little shout out to Maddy for that one). The gentleman helping us brought bright pink soccer socks for her to use to try on her cleats, brought pink cleats from the back without even asking, and grabbed the pink shin guards off the rack at Emma's request. He even blew up the pink soccer ball Emma picked out. When we got home from the store, Emma raced around in the backyard so we could all see how much faster she can run with her cleats on.
She did a great job of running and kicking the ball at the same time, and when Hubs tried to steal the ball away from her, she pushed him out of the way and ran away kicking the ball. We're thinking she might excel at the Enforcer position.
At practice today, they worked on listening to the coach and kicking the ball. Emma is a little disappointed that soccer is only once a week, and informed me she'd like to go to soccer on "MondayTuesdayWednesdayThursdayFriday. All the days."
Mia Hamm, you've got some 3 foot competition.
(Is Mia Hamm still playing soccer? Did I just show my age?)
I'll make sure you all get some tickets when Emma's soccer team plays in the 2024 Olympics. She'll be the one in pink cleats.

GOOOOOAAAAALLLLL! I can't wait to see Emma all decked out in her gear. Hopefully next time we will stay around long enough to see all the cute girls in Emma's class. By the end of Maddy's class she was telling her Dad to leave that she could do it on her own. So maybe we should be in your class. =)
