Updates, get your updates!

We survived Influenza 2008. I've never washed so many sheets/ blankets/ pj's/ towels in such a short amount of time. And that was the flu that just wouldn't say goodbye. The kids and I all had a woozy stomach for days after the initial barfing and fever. But, good riddance Influenza 2008, we have conquered you!

Yesterday was Emma's last day of preschool. I know, I can't believe the school year is over either. Her sweet teachers put together a binder for each kid with art work and pictures and it has been so much fun for us to flip though it and see the changes in Emma. It's incredible, really, how much Emma has changed in just 9 short months. Yesterday, after she said our dinner prayer, I mentioned that one of Hub's co-workers has a son who is 3 and he has an ouchie in his head (he has brain cancer, now that brings tears to your eyes, doesn't it?), and so maybe we could say a prayer for him to get healthy and for God to watch over Jack and his family. She agreed, so we did. Now everytime we say at prayer, whether it's bedtime or mealtime (she prays before every meal, and sometimes snack time), she adds on a prayer for Jack and his family. So sweet.

Grant has had quite a few weeks too. Hubs taught him how to climb onto the living room couch, and he transferred that information to the bedroom couch too. You know, the couch that is next to a windowsill that is oh so fun to stand on. So that's been neat. And super safe. Grant is also starting to talk more - he correctly calls us by name (da, mama, E-ma), says byebye, uh-oh, hi ____, woofs, meows, and baaas. He's signing banana now too, and sometimes signs two words like more cracker. His favorite thing to do on the weekend is stand in the middle of the house and yell da...DA...DA...DA until Hubs says "Hi Grant". It's hilarious!

I've got changes going on too. I've taken over the nursery/childcare duties and am sharing them with another young mom. It's a staff position at the church, complete with our own box in the staff office. Big time, I know. I'm also on the steering committee for the MOPS group we are starting at church. It's been fun, and very rewarding so far.

Hubs had a dentist appointment yesterday and it was discovered he has receding gums and will need skin graft surgery in the near future. I know, gross. And ouch. He was thrilled.

WOW...Huge update. You guys have so much going on. That definitely calls for a mom date at the usual place. ;)

Its funny that Emma ended preschool for the year the same week that Maddy started preschool.
