It's naptime. Twice now I've been called into Grant's room by an "UH-OH!". The first time finds him nekid with his clothes in a pile outside the crib. The second time finds him in the crib with everything else out of the crib. Not much napping going on in there.

Last night, Emma shows Hubs some of her Princess coloring book coloring. He comments on how she's becoming very good at coloring and says maybe she could be an artist when she grows up. She rolls her eyes and says "I'm going to be a mermaid when I grow up Dad. How can I color under the water?" And then does a head shake and a little pssshh laugh.

We're hearing a whole lot of "Me do, me do, ME DO!" and "MemememeMEMEME!" around here from Grant these days. Balanced out by a lot of "te hoo" (thank you) and "pees" (please). He has a hearing test schedule for next Friday just to rule that out, and then we'll likely move forward with another speech eval, this time focusing on articulation.

Emma has started offering to read a book to Grant when he asks me and I can't because I'm often in the middle of cooking dinner. There is nothing sweeter than cooking in the kitchen and hearing Emma read a book to Grant. He sits there riveted, and she even lets him turn some of the pages. She's learned to be less militant about reading the pages, and instead will also comment on what he is pointing out on the page. It's wonderful. And gives me hope that they'll be friends as they grow up when it seems like we're having a day where all they do is shout and argue at each other.

I'm skiing for the first time in 10 years next Friday with my dad and brother and I.can.hardly.wait. And then, lucky me, I'm going AGAIN the next Friday with my dad. YAY!
