Feeling Refreshed

This week has been a trying one. Grant is in the throes of twodom and all the drama that accompanies it, the rain has us cooped up and full of energy, and I've had my cranky pants on all week, I'll admit it.

But this morning, it all turned around. Hubs took the day off so I dropped Emma off at preschool by myself. We walked into Valentine's chaos, between the special Valentines Day snack and the excitement of stuffing everyone's bags with Valentines, the room was insane. I pulled one of the teachers aside and asked if they needed any help. With hardly an answer, she dropped the sugar cookie decorating items into my hands and went to break up some dress up shoe drama. Emma was thrilled to have me in the classroom for the morning, and I was thrilled to hang out with her and her classmates. It was so therapeutic. I helped frost cookies, zip up dress up dresses, cut out hearts, wash hands, find shoes. I oohhed and ahhed over the various princess dresses available in the dress up corner and fawned over newly glittered hearts. I helped reattach a barrette, tie a shoe and snap a pants snap. And just when the sugar kicked in and the room got loud, I kissed Emma goodbye and went to get my hair cut.

It was a great morning.
