Hooligans. Again.

Well I thought we had our hooligan ways taken care of when we got our alarm permit, but alas, I was mistaken.

We just got written up by the water company for improper pool draining. Are you kidding me?

Apparently there are 4 different steps you need to go through before you drain your pool, the last of which is draining it into your sewer line, not your gutter. Whoops. Fortunately for me, not so fortunately for the water company worker, our pool was pretty much empty by the time we got spotted. I did alleviate her stress a little bit when I mentioned it had no chemicals in it, but I think that really was too little too late for her rising blood pressure.

So I'm returning the pump to Home Depot this afternoon, and Hubs can use the wet vac/ a bucket to get the rest of the water out of the pool. Because there is no way I'm contacting a pool company to come out and test my water, then have them fill out a certificate indicating our pool isn't full of harmful chemicals, then call the water company to get a permit to pump out my pool, and finally, somehow figure out where my sewer line is and then get the lid off of it to pump out the rest of the water.

Just not worth it. And one more reason to be thankful we are done with the ridiculous headache called our pool. Good riddance.
